Qamar Dagar is a professional pictorial calligrapher. She is recipient of Nari Shakti Sammaan by the President of India and Women’s International award. She is dedicated to the preservation and popularization of the ancient art of calligraphy in both its traditional and contemporary avatars. She is the founder Director of Qalamkaari Creative Calligraphy Trust (2011), Delhi. She has organized and curated International Calligraphy festivals Qalam-Aatma in Delhi and Jaipur. She is committed to working towards making Indian contemporary creative and traditional calligraphy globally known as an important visual art. Hazrat Amir Abdullah khan (mastaan baba) is her spiritual and calligraphy guide.
